This 2015 doc presents us something which might have begun in the 80's, but a practice/sport/daredevilry that we rarely think of except when tragedy occurs. Let me start by saying I don't understand men like Carl Boenish who was crazed with the whole notion of what we might now call BASE JUMPERS! He looked at great buildings in terms of a launching pad for human flight. This doc is a mixture of the glorious nut who might go as far back as the first madman to go over Niagara Falls in a barrel to ultimate death. Sunshine Superman all becomes an aching yearning for something someone must do. Carl had his wife join him on these devilish stunts, but she is still with us! Parts of the enormous amounts of 16 mm. Film Carl had shot of his unbelievable exploits are incorporated into this film and form a bittersweet memory of someone who is born to keep on doing the impossible till too late. Just a week ago (early June, 2015), we heard of another death of a young man doing exactly what Carl Boenish started in the 80's. I find it all a bit sad and depressing that one would give one's life to a sport that eventually will bring great tragedy and even death!
