Technically speaking, this movie is faultless like most of everything Burton has ever done. There is an attention to detail that is mind blowing. I usually enjoy dark humor but I found nothing funny or interesting about this movie except fot the appearance of Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat) who actually steals the show. If you like seeing blood and guts (à la Tarantino) and the sight of humans actually being minced and turned into meat pies makes you laugh then you might enjoy it but be prepared to see violence and lots of it (yes the preview is very deceiving) I thought that appart from the technical aspect and Depp's acting genious, the movie has no redeeming value whatsoever. The singing was not that good either and at times outright awful. As a whole, the movie gave me nothing but nausea (see below) I was glad when Sweeney Todd finally [...]. At least I knew the movie was coming to an end. PS: When you go to the movie theater (or any other place for that matter), have a little respect for others and please don't empty the contents of your cheap perfume on yourself. The toxic fumes are annoying as hell. Combine that with the stench of popcorn, annoying singing, very ugly people (in the movie), the sight of blood and guts spewing all over the place, [...] the ridiculously high price of Odeon cinemas (10.50) and you've got yourself a bad deal as I did yesterday!
