As good as any post-apocalyptic flick I've seen - and I've seen more than a few. Actually, this movie is better than a lot of them. I don't see why people should give it a poorer rating merely because it is the Bible the main character is protecting. Seems to me that doing so simply reveals how threatened these folk are by the Bible, which bears out the film's assertion that the Bible has, for good or ill, unusual power with people. Denzel did a perfectly fine job with his role. It was quite nice to see a "hero" who wasn't completely unwilling to be self-sacrificing, who had a purpose higher than himself, for a change. The action was pretty good, too.
