An amaizing dipiction of the civil rights struggle without overt racial tones. Oprah is great as is Whitaker while some of the presidents are hardly recognizable (poor choice of actors) or well developed. A tasteful presentation of a dispicable and shameful period of American history. In the end we have a black president but the plight of minorities will take another two to three generations to become something one could call civilised or acceptable. Oscar material for sure as a movie and performances by Oprah! Some may need to see this several times to understand the deep treatment of the strugle still unresolved in human history.

You shouldn't put Oprah in the same category as Forrest Whittaker, she didn't even come close to his performance. Anyone could have played her part and done as good or a better jog. I do like Oprah, I just think she didn't do her role justice.
