    The Dark Mirror

Robert Siodmak was responsible for Olivia de Havilland's unbelievable performance in her Oscar Nominated performance of 1948, 'The Snake Pit'. Two years earlier he helmed 'The Dark Mirror' one of Olivia's lesser known films, but a fascinating one about twins. At a time before Forensic Science/Evidence, this psychological thriller which is as much a 'film noir' takes us on a roller coaster ride as to who of a set of twins in the feature is responsible for the horrendous tragedy there-in. Siodmak has a masterful way of handling these dark, sombre stories of crime and the slimier side of life and became one of the best in this genre. Happy Birthday to Olivia de Havilland who turned 100 on July 1, 2016 and Congratulations on a brilliant Double Oscar Career.
