    The Homecoming

Peter Hall's "The Homecoming " produced as part of " ten great plays transferred to film " during the 1970's was a very ambitious program giving us exceptional drama and musicals. Harold Pinter's remarkable play is still a wickedly superb drama of family life, like no family I've ever known. Those characters will literally make you cringe! The men are as hateful as ever you would want to meet. The 50's was a hotbed of great British drama, Pinter at the very top of his game! This was my first encounter with the brilliant English star Vivian Merchant. She later appeared with Michael Caine in ALFIE! So talented!
