Nice scripted, well shot character study. De Niro is a pretty "range exploiting" actor, and this conveys a quiet, contagious warmth. Anne Hathaway is becoming sort a Lauren Bacall presence in film. Always solid, winsome and an undercurrent of great depth. Thought the supporting cast decent. Zack Pearlman notable. Big support star for Jo-Jo Kushner as Paige. I can see how Anders Holm's realization of his role seems too light, but it's fine. I think she would have pursued a man like this, and outgrown him. Rene Russo just right, as a candle lighter. Pretty good, nothing that'd be discussed in film school. Movie, pure and simple. Eminently watchable, I think it'll always have audience. So, glides to a 7!
