The Kings of Summer

I was really excited to hear that Kings of Summer was coming to Montreal! It was in limited release for a long time, and is finally going to other cities other than NYC and LA. So, did Kings of Summer live up to my expectations? No... It surpassed them! CINEMATOGRAPHY: Like Mud, this movie looked incredibly beautiful. With landscape shots overlooking a forrest, it really was perfectly filmed. 9.5/10 ACTING: The acting in this movie was phenomenal! The three lead boys were all equally great. Moises Arias was the comic relief as Biaggio, and he had me dying of laughter. The adult actors were also fantastic. 9.5/10 STORY/PLOT: The story of this movie was very simple, and could have gone very wrong. Fortunately, it worked very well. It was well structured, with not one boring moment. 9/10 WRITING: The writing in this movie is what made it all fit. It was very humorous at times, making you feel happy. And very depressing and emotional a times, making you feel for the characters and circumstances. Definitely some of the best writing I've seen all year. 10/10 OVERALL: A must-see film that is great for everyone! See it if you can, it's worth it! RATING: 9.5/10.
