The basic idea- that three losers try to attend a secret Eyes Wide Shut-style party on Christmas Eve, which supposed to be the ultimate in debauchery- is a good one. However, the results, as evident in this movie, not so much. Of course, Seth Rogen's character is on a drug trip most of the time. There are references to Home Alone, A Christmas Carol, and It's a Wonderful Life. The excellent supporting cast- especially the females- do the best they can with the weak script. I did laugh out loud at Joseph Gordon-Levitt's 'elf-face' impersonation! The church scene was funny, as well.
