I enjoyed this movie especially the strong performance of Helen Mirren. She is a treasure. Woman in Gold displayed an imaginative and skillful use of the flashback device to help tell this compelling story. The one weak link in my opinion was Ryan Reynolds. Though he delivered a sympathetic, determined, very humanly flawed and likeable character, his final speech before the arbitrators and what should have been the climax of the movie, I thought, was flat and and dull. I could not help thinking he was somewhat out of his depth and that a more experience dramatic actor could have delivered the home run this part and that speech required. It is also worth noting the performance of Daniel Bruhl who was excellent.
