Great story of a substitute teacher who has a great effect on the slum teenagers with whom he is charged. Sidney Poitier was perfect as the teacher in a year that saw him in three great performances, namely," To Sir," ," Guess Who's coming to Dinner" and "In the Heat of the Night. To Sir, With Love spawned the number 1 hit by Lulu, one of the teens in the movie. Another great movie about teachers and their students, here pretty rotten students before Poitier performs his magic.
