It was far too slow moving. The 3-D effects were fine but don't match Ice age or Aliens and Monsters for impact. This is a cartoon movie and by default should be intended for kiddies. There just wasn't enough "fun stuff" for youngsters and the plot was somewhat dreary. Death and loneliness should be left for the adults.

Your attitude about cartoons is uneducated and unintelligent. Cartoons are an art form, not a "just for kids" medium.
Interesting monicker Suburban hypocrite... I suppose that explains your personal attack. In any event if you read other reviews you will see that most adults found it slow moving. As for a "kiddie" movie all of this particular movie's trailers reflected a theme that imparted a "kiddie" theme. Additionally Sub Hypocrite, it is extremely rare for any movie that is in the cartoon mold that is not a kiddie movie. Why would that make me unintelligent? Do you consider Transformers a cartoon movie as it has a great deal of CGI? The bottom line for this movie is its box office receipts compared to other kiddie (cartoon) movies out there like Ice age or Monsters and Aliens... Not even close.
I don't think calling a particular view "unintelligent" constitutes a personal attack, but if that's how you feel, I apologize. I wasn't intending to get personal. I'll change "unintelligent" to "uninformed". I think that's fair. Anyway, if you spend some time looking into what's out there, you'll find that in the last ten years or so (much longer in Japan), there have been just as many adult cartoons produced as those intended for children. It's an art form that's spent far too much time being pigeon-holed by the "uninformed". I wouldn't consider box office take to be an indication of a movie's quality. After all, Bruno was number one this weekend... I'm not sure I understand your comment about my "moniker" (there's no "c", by the way) Are you trying to say that calling your opinion "unintelligent" (I'm sorry again," uninformed") makes me a hypocrite? I'm not sure that that makes any sense. And no, I wouldn't call Transformers a cartoon movie because it's not a cartoon movie. It's a live action movie with a bunch of CGI. And finally, I thought this was a beautiful movie. If anyone else is reading this thread, I hope you'll give the movie a chance. I found it touching, exciting and gorgeously animated, and I think folks young and old will find something in it to love, if they give it a chance.
HI Hypocrite, We'll have to stop meeting like this. Lol Thank you for your apology although later in your comments I sensed that you were being sarcastic. We will have to agree to disagree on this cartoon movie = kiddie movie. I would disagree with you strongly regarding this art form. Everything, and I mean everything, that Pixar comes out with in cartoon form without exception, is fully intended to hit a target audience of kiddies and the adults are brought along for the event and the $$ for the seat."Up" sadly lacked in its appeal to youngsters and was a fairly feeble effort to enamor the adults... not even one groin shot Homie!! And the word monicker can be spelled with or without the "c".. google it.. I bet you can't wait to read my review on Harry Potter.. As for Up... wait for the video which should be coming out in a couple of weeks.
