"Witness" was Harrison Ford's breakout role as a big city cop trying to protect a little Amish boy who is witness to a murder in the big city. This is Ford's first serious role since appearing as "Han Solo" and "Indiana Jones". We see a depth of his acting that we haven't seen before. Lucas Haas as the little boy seems wiser than his years in his sensitive portrayal, Kelly MaGillis as his Amish mother steps away from her role in "Top Gun" to show that she is more than a one dimensional character with a pretty face. The beautiful imagery of fields of wheat blowing in the wind like waves on a vast golden ocean captures the rural simplicity of Amish life. With a great supporting cast featuring Danny Glover "Witness" is great movie making at it's best not to be missed.
