Well, there definitely was a plot. So that is one good point. I am uncertain as to what to say here. It was very violent throughout but I detached from that. Mostly it was ugly. Everything was dirty and there was no joy... not a tad. Lot's of hatred & urges to destroy. Pretty ugly. If there was a positive message... I missed it. Seems as if it were left open for another movie. Will not go to see it. I suppose it respresents humanity's unwillingness to be open to new ways. I just don't know. Are they trying to explain apartheid in some weird way in this flick? Or am I just trying to find anything that brings some sense to it? Not for most folk & definitely not for children.

Totally agree with you! I also found the camera work nauseating as well. I too found this moview "ugly" and depressing.
This movie is about expressing and deprecate our ability for injustice and hatred. I admit, it was a movie that solemnly explored the ugly side of the humankind. But if you think the sun shines or should shine on every corner of the earth than you are wrong, and I envy your innocence.
I think you missed the point. It reflects the dark side of human nature, the need to control & dominate situations (much like the US does) Not all movies can be rainbows & butterfies - no message there.
