Don’t waste your money. See in DVD if you must. The story is interesting, a la Hitchcock’s “The Birds” There are some interesting and suspenseful moments but the characters are so banal and their performances so weak that there was no way to invest in them. Casting was poor. Wahlberg and Deschanel only have one facial expression each so their interplay becomes very boring, very quickly. John Leguizamo, who clearly hit the wall here in terms of his ability to stretch himself, is a joke a lisping mathematician. The only decent performances came from Betty Buckley and the guy operating the wind machine. Nothing of the caliber found in “Signs, ” but then it had better actors, yes? Shyamalan disappoints... Reza.
