I remember my first magazine purchase at the local smoke shop was Famous Monsters. I was 9 years of age and was amazed at the fact that there was a magazine dedicated to the movie world of horror and sci-fi. My mother was not at all worried because I loved to draw Frankenstein's monster, Dracula and yes... The Wolfman. I would go to sleep early on Saturdays so I could wake up and watch the late night horror flicks (Yes those other ones on the Italian channel too) Now almost 30 years since An American Werewolf in London, I want to say a new classic is born, I can not. An updated, if that, telling of a great horror story has come to the silver screen and it will entertain, but will leave you wondering, where is the meat in this burger. To much filler not enough of the real meat.

I did, and actually brought them out to show my wife, Man, some of the make-up was pretty bad. Mind you Lon Chaney Jr's was not bad for 1941. Even the Phantom of the Opera was not bad, with the pig nose and all.
