300: Rise of an Empire

I was actually pretty excited for 300: Rise of an Empire. I enjoyed the first 300 and I liked the trailers for this one. Well, this movie was really fun but really stupid. Just what I expected. THE GOOD: The action scenes and the gore in this film were awesome! They were very well shot (except for some shaky cam) and I loved every second of them. This movie has pretty great visuals and way too much slow motion. The main standout in this movie is an awesome performance from Eva Green. Wow, I loved both her and her character. It had a decent soundtrack and it kept a pretty steady pace. THE BAD: This movie was horribly written and has some laughably bad dialogue. Most of the acting was awful and there were some moments that made no sense. The main problem is that this movie is boring when there isn't fighting. The talking scenes were dull and made me yawn. There should have been more interesting dialogue and/or violence. P.S. This movie has one of the best, funniest and most violent sex scenes. It is worth going to the movie to see. OVERALL: 300: Rise of an Empire is a violent and fun, but sometimes dull movie that I would recommend renting if you liked the first 300 and violence! RATING: 6.75/10.
