    A Borrowed Identity

As was pretty much always said during the 1940's, I'll start by saying the movie was SWELL in the very best sense of that word. I must admit I love a cast of unknowns as it proves how much damn talent there is around the world. With the story situated in the Middle East, our hero being of Palestinian/Israeli origin struggling with life in a posh Jerusalem school hit very close to home. Teaching at the U of T, with so many foreign "outsider" types in my particular department, I found Eyad's situation incredibly realistic as I witness his dilemma before my very eyes on a daily basis. Every young person must go through some rite of passage as he/she is maturing. Probably everyone has been in the young man's shoes at one time or other. A nice slice of life!
