This film is NOT a gangster movie, an "action flick", or whatever you may have expected given the title; it's an interesting but very slow character study about the fuel supply business in NYC circa 1981. The acting is great but the story is dreary and pointless -- rather like the lives of the people portrayed therein. It will neither entertain nor amuse you unless you are interested in character studies for their own sake, but it might cure you of a bad case of optimism if you suffer from one. I'd like to see the cast in a FUN movie, though; they were great.
