Meh... So the idea is that they are going back to square one and make is a bit more sinister or dark. It took out Freddie's comedic side. OK that's fine but at least mix it up a bit. Seven minutes of dialog... three minutes of build up to the predictable subwoofer-enhanced jump up scare. There was absolutely no suspense. It had the standard old stuff... like the look in the mirror... look away... and guess what happens the next time you look in the mirror!! Oh geez I'm giving away over half of the movie. Nothing new here in any way. Freddie killed everyone the same way... BORING. As a remake it did perform a couple of the original death scenes... but the originals were actually better. I do like the idea of revisiting the Elm street movies' concept and trying to make it murkier... They just fell short. And how is it that sitting in front of me were two kids under the age of ten? Do the ratings mean anything anymore? I've seen all the Elm street movies. This was the dullest.
