I have never been that fond of GODARD's idea of film or his more in depth philosophical views on life. Of all French directors, he has never truly satisfied me because he seems to expound too heavily on his particular themes, whatever they be at any specific point in time. I could care less about the 3D format, my craving being substance over style almost always. This film does not vary from Godard's usual ideal of abstraction in film, but Goodbye to Language MIGHT appeal to a broader base of cinéphiles due to style with a few specific, tangible themes, but this I doubt very much! Godard has always been a director hard to penetrate and I think he enjoys having this particular reputation!
