A saga of greed, cut-throat competition and murder in the breadbasket of Iowa, this film sheds light on amorality in American society, it's about the rot that is taking this country to the dogs. It's stunningly photographed, the serene green fields under the gorgeous sunny skies are a visual feast. The acting is superb led by Dennis Quaid as the hyperactive farmer whose life is crumbling before his eyes. And there are fine supporting performances by Zac Effron and Clancy Brown. Quite worthwhile.
