    Being Ginger

" BEING GINGER " is a clever opus, a documentary BY and ABOUT Scott Harris of the U. K. It's a doc that is both amusing and serious as it examines differences in the physical make-up of persons, such as being short or tall, as an example, though this particular documentary has NOTHING to do with height! This unique doc deals with COLOUR, colour of an individual's hair which is hardly just on the head, if you get my drift! It illuminates how it makes one feel, how it affects your life, even in the choice of a career or being considered for a particular post!

I believe Scott Harris reveals something very personal and emotional about his hair colour and assuredly of millions of other boys, performing his magic both in live action and animation. My thinking is that being a 'ginger' boy is as different as night is day when it comes to the sexes. Woman of said colour to the more red-heads are in a completely different ball park, considered sexy and exotic. Just think of the great gingers and red-heads of the entertainment business from Lucille Ball to Rita Hayworth to Julianne Moore of today, who just won an Oscar in 2014.

One of the great appeals of Scott P. Harris is that he happens to be a very pleasant looking man, tall and slender and yes, ginger. Another great appeal is that he is very honest with no affectation whatever. So he delves into this 'ginger' factor with a candour that reveals his entire persona. It's pretty amazing to me how being 'ginger' has become such a big deal in this day and age. It's a constant subject of conversation, the subject of many articles in magazines and now a doc, from the male perspective. Society seems to look upon these 'ginger' folk as strange and unusual to the exotic, a word I quoted earlier.
