    Body and Soul

Body and Soul, this masterful Robert Rossen (The Hustler) feature from 1947 finds the great, lamentable John Garfield as a man irresistible to wily women, NATURALLY, in this film noir that stars a young Lili Palmer, Oscar Winner Anne Revere, with William Conrad. With good performances and Rossen's brilliant film technique this is a must see NOIR! Rossen who started as a writer became this brilliant director who produced superlative films including 1949's Oscar Winning Film, ALL THE KING'S MEN taking Best Director as well. A superb writer/director who knew his craft inside out! One of the best American directors, regrettably not known by many.
