    Britain's Greatest Codebreaker

CODEBREAKER is the documentary of the film we now hail as THE IMITATION GAME. The title of the movie comes from one of Alan Turing's first great papers, Part One called The Imitation Game written when at King's College. Its content is the mechanism of the modern computer, a model which Mr. Turing built himself. Mr. Turing was such a genius, such a good, humble man, such a hero to break Nazi codes on their near infallible ENIGMA machine. He was enlisted by the government in their most secret war efforts. And so, for essentially winning the war for Britain, his reward becomes eventual prosecution for being a homosexual till he can't take the lies and the spying any more. He committed suicide in June of 1954. FINALLY, in 2009 the British Government issued a formal apology in treating him worse than a criminal when he should have been hailed as not only the EXTRAORDINARY genius he was, but a real HERO of WWII. My heart went out to this decent gentleman, a very loving, caring person who gave his country his all. He was a quiet, slightly introverted man. But he did everything expected of him His crime was having been born gay.
