“Burnt” is a catchy title to a movie I must say. This is an entertaining film where there is always something happening given the story is full of problem characters. It is a plus for sure to have the plot take place primarily in historic London. Nice educational backdrop as well to see how the whole Michelin star process works so to speak. The downside to the film is that it is hard to empathize with many of the characters as they are trying to support a world of self-indulgence, materialism, and superficiality. The movie focuses on the process of creating perfect meals in a luxury environment - however, is not the beauty or tastiness of food in the eye or mouth of the beholder? Are not many of the best meals simple recipes with people you know and care about?
