Even though I gave this movie a 4, I didn't hate it - the message is very inspirational. However, about half way through the movie, I asked myself," If I was watching this on TV, would I change channels? " and the answer was," Probably yes". As you can see many people are very passionate about the movie, and although I respect their opinions and their passion, it seems the majority of the people who gave it 10 out of 10 have read the books, were inspired by them and took that with them into the cinema. If you look at this film on its own merits without having read any of the books, it is the equivalent of an infomercial and you would be better off signing the book out of your local library for free. If you are curious, (as was I) either wait to see it on TV in a few weeks or at the very least watch it in a matinee on a discounted ticket, but do it soon because it won't be there long.
