    Elsa & Fred

FRED and ELSA looks so similar in title to FELLINI'S FRED AND GINGER that I had to look twice to make sure it wasn't the Fellini film. Yet, strangely enough, something Fellinesque does occur in FRED and ELSA. From the actors alone with 3 Oscar Winners and 2 Emmy winners you won't go far wrong with this lovely cast and story. Have you ever asked yourself if love has passed you by because of age? Once Fred, Oscar winner Christopher Plummer, suffers a loss, the movie starts its wondrous roll. Shirley M and Marcia Gay Harden, both Oscar winners are tops in my book. It's all a precious movie, hardly a senseless one of old age. It's sweet and joyous without being sappy in the least. Life should be lived to its fullest until inevitable time has its way.
