The cast is the main reason I liked this film especially as I don't much care for sci-fi. I'll gloss over Kristen Stewart as she's not much of an actress but I must admit she is getting better. Nicholas Hoult, a real winner, is a young man to whom one is drawn immediately as is Guy Pierce as the older dude. They both have an incredible chemical, cinematic presence that sweeps across the screen. And then there is the charismatic Jacki Weaver who has done so well since her two Oscar Nominations for 'Animal Kingdom' and 'Silver Linings Playbook'. With all the problems presented in this story, I especially liked the more humane side of the attraction and ultimate fiery romance of Nia and Silas (Stewart and Hoult)
