A comedy that seemed to promise a lot more but still worth the viewing. Grandma is out to help her grand-daughter who is the same predicament she was years and years before. Lily Tomlin is great as is much of the supporting cast, especially Sam Elliot in a role only he could pull off with aplomb. The problem with what becomes a bit of a mini road movie is that all sorts of quirks and quarks arise from unexpected visits to various relationships from the past. Though not being the perfect movie, I would recommend this feature just to see the marvelous Lily Tomlin, now 78, in action. It is a treat to see the under acting of old timer Sam Elliot, his usual trademark. The film is so well intentionned that it is hard to rate, but I'll go with a decent 7.
