    Gunga Din

Before the great George Stevens turned to comedy in the early to mid forties he had tried several genres including the action film Gunga Din from that amazing Hollywood year of 1939. George Stevens who had very early training as a slapstick writer uses a comic twist to great benefit to what is otherwise a film full of predictabilities and cliches. It is of great interest to see all those old, beloved stars.
