    Haider

Haider is set in Kashmir of 1995 and also happens to be an adaptation of Hamlet. The background is Kashmir... in all its terrible beauty, the horrors of militancy (although the horrors perpetrated by militants are not shown) and the heavy handedness of army through the dreaded AFSPA. Shahid does well, his speech at the chowk is really good but its Tabu who owns every scene that she is in. There is still something lacking in Shahid, not his acting but just his presence. Shradha Kapoor does really well in portraying a girl caught between two worlds. The background stays with the whole time - calm and haunting.
