I am not a horror film fan yet I think it's pretty unfair to give this classic a 1. This is almost the grand-daddy of modern horror/slasher flicks and just deserves should be given to a film that has been copied over and over again. IMITATION IN ANY ART FORM IS THE HIGHEST PRAISE ONE CAN GIVE TO A WORK. Taking this into account Halloween deserves the success and adoration it has received. People will always enjoy it because it is a genuinely good film, I believe, from great Canadian director, Mr. Carpenter. It's too bad the franchise went on far too long. The later films WERE garbage! Isn't it strange that most of the reviewers were't even born at the time of initial releasing. I was all of four. It proves that something worthwhile, even a slasher flick made to deliver chills and creeps can remain in the annals of NON-FORGOTTEN FILMS.
