This is a work of love by a grand master of movie making. It is not for everyone: the pace is slow, but necessarily so, and it is not an action film. It is about time, artistry, the history of movies, and the message would probably be lost on young kids, perhaps even some adults. But the brilliance of the camera work and the intricacy of the machinery, of the clockworks and the railway station, and the integration of philosophy, history, action and feeling is touching, captivating and very engaging. It is a movie set in another time and place, and 3D has never been so superbly, carefully and consistently integrated into every layer and nuance of the physical and emotional aspects of a movie. Again, not for everyone, but a unique and superb experience.
