    Jezebel

A William Wyler production starring Bette Davis and Hank Fonda in a stunning, production that won both Bette and Fay Bainter Oscars in Lead and Supporting Roles. Henry Fonda is at his stiffest worst, but that doesn't spoil the film at all. A stubborn Southern Belle much like Scarlett O'Hara is much too independent for the mid 19th century. Bette is out of this world at the very top of her game! The twists and turns of plot will make this a wonderful experience with a conclusion that one simply would not have believed possible in the earlier stages of the film. The problems of the time are dealt with in an intelligent, correct way, which makes the viewing all that much more enjoyable. Man oh Man! Why can't films like this be made in this day and age?
