Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work

I unashamedly state that this doc pre-dating the passing of Miss Rivers was a delight, a breath of fresh air as EVERYTHING and I do mean everything about the woman is exposed for all to see and hear. The creation of the persona "Joan Rivers" had become legendary, but as is shown in this good doc, she worked long and hard, even as she reached 80, to maintain her status as a great star, always worried if the"gigs" would keep coming, even taking some small "stuff" for the love of the work. One witnesses a daily schedule that a person half her age would hardly be able to maintain. It's a total revelation how very much she did care for her career as we get glimpses of a comedienne who is deadly serious about the art of being funny. I could watch this doc again in a trice.
