    Juno

Jason Reitman's first full length feature 'Thank You for Smoking" ably demonstrated his directing and screenwriting skills along with his penchant for treating serious matters with a tongue-in-cheek approach. He has now hooked up with a young woman screenwriter, Diablo Cody, to direct another extremely clever film about a problem facing a considerable portion of the population. These two films establish Mr. Reitman as a man of considerable talent. Ms. Cody, 8 months his junior, was included in Entertainment Weekly's 2007 list of the top 50 smartest people. The folks around this film obviously bought in, so what we have here is one of the very best films of the year.
