I enjoyed the realism that they brought to the life of the poor in the late 1800's. I'm a fan of Anne Hathaway, and thought she did a great job as usual. Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen were a hoot to watch. Hugh Jackman was very uneven - he was amazing in some scenes and only adequate in others. I don't think this type of musical translates as well to the cinema. The singing was very repetitive and not always all that great. The movie felt very long and my husband fell asleep - so I wouldn't recommend the movie to guys who prefer action films. Worth seeing on the big screen, but I have no interest in seeing it again.
