A handsome and cunningly good movie that gives the dapper Joseph Gordon-Levitt a wonderful role. It's quite unbelievable that the young kid from the old sit-com (was it 3rd Rock from the Sun?) has become a force to be reckoned with. He's a major talent and now has taken on both writing and directing projects. In any case, this film is indeed a futuristic time travel type film, but it does not stay locked in that mode as we have all sorts of shady characters that kind of harken to a Western with JGL basically being a gun for hire. If you don't try to over analyze the film to death, you can sit back and enjoy it for what it's worth. No one is saying it's a masterpiece but it is enjoyable! Picking at every straw is a ludicrous way to view a film. If one dislikes a film for one of a million reasons... the simplest thing to do is to WALK OUT instead of getting your shorts or undies in a knot... as many do!
