    Miss Hill: Making Dance Matter

This celebration of Martha Hill (1900-1995) heralds the entire gamut of contemporary dance and its teachers right to the inception of the dance division at Julliard. We have in this woman an individual who fought long and hard to make 'MODERN' dance a legitimate art form. Her pioneering work is admirable! There is only one problem! I pretty well hate contemporary dance, thoroughly steeped as I am in classical ballet. For Martha's efforts, as I do believe in all the arts, I will go right down the middle. I can't rate it higher as I'm totally removed from this type of dance art form!
