Peabody and his boy, Sherman, originated with the old telly show," The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle", as a mild farce that was aimed more at adolescents and adults than children. This movie, too, is NOT for little kids, despite the occasional "poop" joke, and the eight and under crowd will be bored by it. The computer animation was creative and didn't distract from the fun (as it sometimes does when animators go "over the top") and the story was both fun and funny. While the wry tone and subtlety of the original (s) "Peabody's Improbable History" were not quite reproduced, it was still a light-hearted animated romp that was well worth watching.
