This 1946 mystery-thriller by William Castle falls in what was once called a B movie, usually the second half of a bill with a major motion picture. This isn't a good movie by any stretch of the imagination, but from a historical point of view, I found it somewhat interesting with B stars like Barton MacLaine, Richard Dix, Regis Toomey who must have made some 150 movies and Mike Mazurki who became one of the most celebrated Hollywood entrepreneurs once he had left films for good! It is worth exploring the many B movies, not for their greatness as motion pictures, but the library of information they provide about the old Hollywood system!
