I enjoyed this movie but I am not as enthusiastic as some of the other reviewers. Having a parent with dementia it struck a cord, although my loved one is not nearly as high functioning as the Dern character. It's worth going just for his performance which deepens as the movie progresses. The film is slow-moving however and I found myself looking at my watch hoping for the conclusion. Some decent laughs but the B&W didn't work for me. Was it meant to reflect the dullness of all the characters' lives? It's nice to see a film that doesn't involve, guns, car chases or special effects though.
