    People Will Talk

People Will Talk is a gem of a film mainly as written by Joe Mankiewicz who had just come off winning Best Writer/Director Oscars back to back in 1949 for A LETTER TO THREE WIVES and in 1950 for one of the greatest movies ever produced, ALL ABOUT EVE. Mr. J. Man., a relative of Ben Man. Of Turner, was a writer of exceptional talent and once he started directing, he was a force of nature.

People Will Talk, though from so very long ago, is still relevant as human nature does not change in ESSENCE as one thinks it does over long and many years. It's a perfectly wonderful themed film with Cary Grant, who I don't think ever gave a bad performance and Jeanne Crain who had just come off A Best Actress Nomination for her surprisingly outstanding work in PINKY that dealt with the whole notion of the colour bar or mixed blood, black and white, a truly taboo subject from 20th Century Fox who was pushing barriers in their films like no other Studio 65 years ago!
