This movie is very colourful, with spectacular images and fantastic cinematography. As well, it has some fine dances and songs. It deals with pertinent questions about religion and those who lead various creeds. It is a new take on maybe the most important question of them all : the meaning of our lives and/or the existence of God. All this was handled intelligently and with respect.
It was my first Bollywood movie ever -- and I liked it a lot. However, I found it a bit too long : maybe a tighter editing would have improved it. I particularily liked a magnificent early scene set in Bruges (Belgium) -- dealing with a beautiful young couple's first meeting, accompanied by an enchanting Hindi tune sung to the enthralling tempo of a waltz!
Overall, 'P. K.' reminded me somewhat of ‘Life of Pi’ and ‘Henri Henri’.
Finally, the one huge 'false note' in that otherwise great movie was the overacting of the central character played by Aamir Khan. I found his too often bewildered, wide-eyed look irritating. Was it supposed to be funny? I thought it ill-advised... and rather asinine!
Furthermore, the ending was cleverly written and nicely brought together a few loose ends.
