    Predestination

I adore Ethan Hawke as an actor. He has a very gentle and genteel side to him that makes him most distinguishable from other actors. His trilogy of films with Julie Delpy were meditations on life which I adored. Yet one can catch Ethan as Denzel Washington's naive partner in Training Day for which he was Oscar Nominated. And how about Boyhood! Well! He's GREAT!

This all brings me to yet another sci-fi thriller, PREDESTINATION, a type of film that always poses problems for me. I can accept the simple enough thesis or premise of the film and its use of time travel. A kid would be able to understand its intricacies and figure out exactly where it's headed. That's the crux of the problem! We can figure most things out as we've been bombarded by the same type material over and over again! MY ADVICE TO ETHAN: Stick to the more artsy type film. You are amazing in them no matter your co-star; I never tire of watching you in films of real significance. Three Cheers for Ethan!
