Despite the catchy movie title, this is a disappointing rendition of the story of Robin Hood. This film strays significantly from the original ballads and folklore of Robin Hood. There is poor, disrespectful, and lazy storytelling here. I must say also that Kevin Costner and Christian Slater were awful and inappropriately casted to play the roles of Robin Hood and Will Scarlett respectively. The acting overall is below average with exception to Nick Brimble who did an excellent job in the role of Little John. While the costume, set design, and cinematography are well done, this is not enough to save the movie from severe criticism. Unfortunately, the hit song “Everything I do, I do it for you” by Bryan Adams - favourite and special song – is tied to this movie as the theme song in which I just have to erase that association from my memory. In the end, this film does a disservice to the legend of Robin Hood and movie goers in general.
