The zombie genre is so trite and overdone these days that even zombie comedies tend to come off as stale. Scout's Guide is no exception, as it offers nothing really fresh. The pure good guy, his horny, smart-ass best friend, the nerd who becomes a hero, the bouncy blonde in a tank top, inventive zombie kills with a plethora of hardware store items, you've seen it all before. It's juvenile and moronic, with gross-out gags aplenty. Some of which are undeniably funny, though all of which test the boundaries of good taste. But then again, you don't really want good taste in a movie like this anyway so who really cares about that? It will pass the time and give you a few chuckles but all and all, a totally unremarkable addition to the Zom-Com genre.
