    Separate Tables

Just finished viewing the great Oscar nominated film from 1958, SEPARATE TABLES (July 13, 2015) The film is based on two one act plays by Terrance Rattigan fused together to make one film about the lives of various people staying at an English seaside resort Hotel. Mr. Rattigan is partly responsible for the screenplay which is an exceptionally good one. Add a terrific cast including Oscar Winners David Niven (Best Actor, 1958, for Separate Tables) and Dame Wendy Hiller ( Best Supporting Actress Winner) But we get more from Deborah Kerr in her very superior Oscar nominated performance for this film, Burt Lancaster, Rita Hayworth, Rod Taylor and two veteran great Dames, Gladys Cooper and Kathleen Nesbitt. The subject matter is strictly adult fare, quite frank for a film from the late 50's. An ensemble cast of great pros makes this a must see film!
