    Seven Brides for Seven Brothers

One of the most engaging musicals of all time from MGM in 1954 starring then supersaters Jane Powell and Howard Keel. It is based on the the myth "The Rape of the Sabine Woman." It's magnificent in its cinemAscope cinematography, the second or third film in the wide vision format. The music is delightful but the dancing is absolutely the very tops with the likes of Jacques D'Amboise of the New York City Ballet making his screen debut. It's a musical that is now being prepared for the musical stage. This is A HUGE, HUGE MUST SEE MUSICAL nominated for BEST FILM OSCAR IN 1954 when ON THE WATERFRONT won the gold!
